![]() To make this work, FreeFileSync requires a file system that supports file IDs (as alternative to file paths) and database files (' sync. i am doing this on a local machine to a usb hdd. FreeFileSync is able to detect moved files on one side and can quickly apply the same move on the target side during synchronization instead of a slow copy and delete. ![]() I've reviewed the help file section on this which notes that the purpose is to prevent concurrent sync jobs, mainly intended for network shares. another workaround is to disable placing the lock file. in other words, there's no chance of this behaviour changing any time soon right?Ģ. ![]() I can easily delete them by searching X: for 'sync.ffs'. As backups are made later, these files accumulate on X: (second image). The backup completes correctly (I have checked this several times). i must assume this behaviour was chosen because of some desirable characteristic, instead of putting the Lock file in the folder that is actually currently being worked on. I check 'Dont show this warning again' and press Ignore. So currently if i want to have the base folder just be the root of the drives and customize with the include/exclude filters it'll always put the lock file in the base folderġ. Thanks for confirming this is the behaviour. In Devuan Ceres (Debian Sid), I see gcc-6-base up through gcc-10.Along with Plerry's correct suggestion, I'll add that the root "issue" is that the lock file is placed in the root of the locations, regardless of filters/settings The Debian family, which includes Ubuntu, has way better multi-version compiler support than Fedora.
